Multimeter Calibration

The digital multimeter (DMM) is one of the most important tools in any electricians toolkit. A digital multimeter is used to determine resistance in an electrical circuit. It does this by injecting a small amount of energy and then the display reads the voltage drop across different points.

Digital multimeter calibration must be performed at least once a year to conform with industry best practices. This is to prevent faulty test leads.

At JBA Calibration we have extremely high calibration standards and fast turnaround times.

Electrical Tester Calibration: FAQs

1What is an electrical tester tool?
An electrical tester is a tool used by electrical contractors. It is used to determine the quality of a range of electrical components, from voltage and current to resistance and continuity. These testers can be used to evaluate live wires, circuit breakers, electrical panels and power transformers.
2Can electrical testers give false readings?
Yes. Calibration is essential when in need of precise measurements, as it ensures the proper functioning of electrical testers and devices.
3What are 3 reasons for calibrating electrical testers?
1) Ensures adherence to industry standards 2) Eradicates potential safety hazards 3) Reduces the risk of costly mistakes
